The drawings to illustrate Danika and Yatima – from Egypt to the Outback arrived today, all the way from the USA. Willa Frayser has done a fantastic job with both the cover and the illustrations. Here is an example.
Chapter 1 – Sad Parting
Outback Bedourie is a long way from Egypt. The white Arabian mare waited patiently. She was now resigned to her endless journey, and stared suspiciously at her surroundings. This time Yatimah stood in a cattle-holding yard beside the Bedourie hotel. A light fleck of sweat spread across her chest, a combination of anxiety and the searing heat.
